In honor of the 30th anniversary of (our favorite) Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro from the brilliant Hayao Miyazaki, Kinokuniya USA is hosting a pop-up shop in San Francisco from February 24th to March 18th. Audrey and I will be there. Get your free ticket here.
People watching, elevated, and in the comfort of my own home. Still playing catch up with some of the nominated films but do favor Dunkirk, Blade Runner 2049, Baby Driver, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and, to my surprise, Get Out. Any predictions? Mark your calendar: Sunday, March 4th, 5:00pm PST
Edible Marin & Wine Country‘s new quarterly dinner series highligting what’s in season in Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties. First one is at Farmshop in Larkspur and features Georgeanne Brennan (I took my first preserving class with her!) with a 3-course wine-pairing dinner prepared by Executive Chef Jeff Cerciello. Yum! Tickets available at Eventbrite.

I’m joining my Modern Art Council friends for an afternoon at the Wattis Institute (shows are always provocative) and Hosfelt Gallery. And I’m hoping to stop by the Hiroshi Sugimoto B.C. exhibit, with his travel-back-in-time images, at the Fraenkel Gallery. Last but not least, our friend Jessica Silverman has a new exhibit opening March 15th in her stunning space. So much art this month… how will I fit everything in?!
After taking a one-day course at Brown Fox Calligraphy, I’m obsessed! You’d think I was opening my own shop, but really I’m just practicing… a lot. It’s quite humbling.
Look for posts on these things and more!
