Galentine’s Day is on February 13th and if there was ever a better time to celebrate gal pals, now seems like the time. Thanks to the famous 2010 episode of Parks and Recreation where Amy Poehler’s character, Leslie Knope, pays tribute to the joys of female friendship with robust “Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” What’s not to love? With a growing recognition of girl power and the confident female flooding social media, it’s easy to embrace the positive messaging in Galentine’s Day. What’s next? No need to make a fuss on the 13th, but why not? We’re all friends and sisters of a fearless squad, team, and tribe. So in honor of Galentine’s Day, I’ll be sending these handcrafted sentiments to ladies who inspire.
