I love kicking off the new year with the FOG Design+Art fair January 11–14, 2018. The creative work and experiences, displayed by 45 leading international galleries, are always exciting, provocative, and inspiring. Last year, I almost walked away with these amazing pieces. Well, not really but they’re in my virtual gallery.
Markus Brunetti facade at Yossi Milo Gallery
Voodoo Moss Girl, Kim Simonsson at Jason Jacques Gallery
Lot 112016, Donald Moffett at Anthony Meier Fine Arts
I was completely mesmerized by the spidersilk in this piece by Tomas Saraceno at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery
I also love ArtBites for the educational component or, what I like to call it, a mini art history class. ArtBites is a series of panel discussions hosted by the Modern Art Council of SFMOMA (full disclosure: I’m an enthusiastic member). What’s art without a narrative? Next week, we introduce the topic The Art of Compassion: How Art and Altruism Spark Change with a stellar panel including one of the most important artists in my roster, Ana Teresa Fernández. Tickets available here.
January 11–14, 2018, at Fort Mason, San Francisco
