If you’re one of those early planners and are looking to book your summer holiday or just need some inspiration, Flavorwire’s recent post on the “20 Most Extraordinary Hotel Rooms in the World” is definitely worth a peek. My top pick is the Karen Blixen Suite at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya. It looks like something out of Dr. Doolittle. I would enjoy the company… but from afar.
Channeling Austin Powers and thinking of Anthony Bourdain‘s comment “like wearing mink underwear” (when he dined at the French Laundry) at the sight of this picture. If you’re intrigued, see Québec’s Ice Suite at the Hôtel de Glace for details.
The Kiboko Star Bed in the Loisaba Wilderness is pretty extraordinary, but the city girl in me is already worried about all the exotic Kenyan spiders and insects hanging about. Still, it’s quite breathtaking.
