Global Champagne Day

Oops, I missed greeting you happy Global Champagne Day! It was yesterday, but there is no reason we cannot celebrate this weekend… and all year round! Below are Bottlenotes‘ top 3 Champagne recipes {perfect for the holidays} but, before theirs, here’s my absolute favorite. Cheers!

1/2 part St~Germain
Top with Brut Champagne
Pour ingredients into a chilled fluted glass and stir lightly.

Poinsettia is the traditional red holiday flower of November and December. It’s a poisonous flower to eat – but the liquid version here is quite yummy! This drink is red in color, and features the holiday flavor of cranberry.

* 1/4 shot triple sec
* Dash of cranberry juice
* Champagne

Kir Royale
This Champagne cocktail is simple and tasty. Creme de Cassis is centuries old; it was created in France by monks, and is in essence black currant liqueur. It was thought to cure “wretchedness” so drink up!

* 6 ounces champagne
* 1/2 ounce Crème de Cassis
* Lemon twist

French 75
French 75’s are famous cocktails that were even featured in Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart. A classic touch for any afternoon or evening soiree!

* 1 1/2 ounces dry gin
* 1 tablespoon lemon juice
* 1 teaspoon fine sugar
* 6 ounces chilled Champagne
